The San Francisco office opened on April 1, 2015 and is located in the Financial District at 580 California Street. The practice includes energy, finance, insurance, intellectual property, litigation, environmental, and China inbound and outbound work.
Troutman Sanders has deep experience handling complex energy financing transactions in the Northern California market, serving as counsel in more than 400 renewable projects, including some of the largest in California. In addition, firm has substantial experience with the California ISO (CAISO) and the CAISO-administered markets, including the new Energy Imbalance Market.
The firm’s West Coast finance practice represents national, regional and community banks, many of which have offices in Northern California or are actively engaged in this market, through the financing of projects and transactions. The practice includes commercial lending, real estate lending and finance, multifamily housing finance, project finance, and bankruptcy, workouts and restructurings.
Troutman Sanders has a diverse and sophisticated West Coast litigation practice, handling matters in California before the state and federal courts at the trial and appellate levels. Drawing from the firm’s deep bench and experience on the West Coast, the San Francisco, Orange County and San Diego offices work collaboratively to advise and represent clients in litigation, counseling and arbitration matters.
