Miranda Yost's practice focuses on environmental and administrative law issues, with emphasis on regulatory counseling, citizen suit and enforcement defense, rulemaking advocacy, litigation, and permitting matters under the Clean Water Act, RCRA, Clean Air Act and CERCLA.

Miranda has significant experience defending clients in complex citizen and enforcement actions with multi-media, as well as civil and criminal, implications. Her practice also focuses on national and state rulemakings, including developing extensive comments on regulatory proposals and participation in related litigation and settlement negotiations.

Miranda represents clients in energy, mineral and chemical processing, commercial fishing, local government, agribusiness, construction materials, education and a variety of other regulated sectors.

Representative Matters

  • Represent clients in complex citizen suits and enforcement matters arising out of CWA, RCRA and CAA.
  • Represent clients and client associations in federal and state rulemaking advocacy, with an emphasis on significant water law developments such as those pertaining to stormwater, water quality, cooling water intake structures, and wastewater discharges.
  • Represent clients and client associations in litigation related to a range of environmental matters, including judicial challenges of federal and state air and water rulemakings, air and water permit challenges, and waste management liability.
  • Provide creative and multimedia natural resource management counseling and regulatory compliance advice to various clients.
  • Counsel clients on obtaining, retaining and renewing environmental permits.
  • Represent clients in negotiation of large-scale Freedom of Information Act document requests, environmental site investigation and auditing, as well as coordination of agency requests for information responses.
  • Advise clients on transactional due diligence pertaining to all aspects of environmental liability and compliance, including environmental insurance matters.
