Laura Anne “LA” Kuykendall is an associate in the firm’s Business Litigation practice and specifically within the Intellectual Property and White Collar and Government Investigations practices. LA’s practice focuses on representing clients involved in regulatory, civil, and criminal investigations and litigation. She also has experience helping clients comply with federal regulatory regimes, including federally administered sanctions and anti-corruption programs and government contracting requirements.
Before joining the firm, LA served as a judicial law clerk in both federal and state trial courts. She clerked for the judges of the Circuit Court of the County of Henrico, Virginia and also served the Honorable M. Hannah Lauck, United States District Judge for the Eastern District of Virginia in Richmond, during Judge Lauck’s transition from a federal magistrate judge to a federal district judge. As a clerk in the Rocket Docket, LA handled a diverse range of complex federal civil and criminal matters.
LA graduated from the University of Richmond School of Law, where she served on the University of Richmond Law Review and the Moot Court Board. In addition, LA interned during law school with the criminal division of the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Virginia and the Honorable Dennis W. Dohnal, United States Magistrate Judge for the Eastern District of Virginia.
