Troutman Sanders Ranks No. 1 in American Lawyers 2009 Associates Survey

ATLANTA – Troutman Sanders LLP is ranked No. 1 among Atlanta law firms in a new survey of associates’ job satisfaction conducted by American Lawyer magazine.
The annual American Lawyer survey also showed that Troutman Sanders ranked 51st in the nation among all law firms, up 66 spots from the previous year. Among the nation’s 100 largest law firms – a prestigious group known as the Am Law 100 – Troutman Sanders ranked 23rd.
In conducting its 2009 Associates Survey, American Lawyer sent out over 16,000 surveys to third, fourth and fifth-year associates and asked them to rate their firms as workplaces, examining twelve areas that contribute to job satisfaction. These areas included relations with partners and other associates, the interest and satisfaction level of the work, training and guidance, policy on billable hours, management's openness about firm strategies and partnership chances, the firm's attitude toward pro bono work, compensation and benefits, and the respondents' inclination to stay at their firm for at least two more years.
In the latest Atlanta rankings (see below), Troutman Sanders moved up 8 spots from a year ago on its way to the top of the list.
