Troutman Sanders Partner Named President-Elect for NCADA

The law firm of Troutman Sanders LLP is pleased to announce that Raleigh partner Patricia P. Kerner has been voted president-elect for the North Carolina Association of Defense Attorneys (NCADA). She will become president of the association at its next annual meeting in June 2011.
NCADA held its 33rd Annual Meeting in Hilton Head Island, S.C., during the weekend of June 17-20. Officers and board of directors for the 2010-2011 year took office at the close of the Annual Meeting on June 20.
Kerner will be only the fourth woman in the association's 34-year history to serve as its president, and the second Troutman Sanders partner to serve in this role. Raleigh partner Gary S. Parsons served as NCADA’s president from 2003-2004.
At Troutman Sanders, Kerner’s practice focuses primarily on the areas of civil litigation and administrative law, with emphasis on the defense of attorney malpractice claims, products liability and personal injury actions, and insurance coverage disputes. She received her J.D. from the University of North Carolina in 1985 and a B.A., cum laude, from Wake Forest University in 1982.
In addition to being listed as a 2010 North Carolina Super Lawyer in Civil Litigation Defense, as one of the state’s 2008 “Legal Elite” by North Carolina Magazine and listed in The Best Lawyers in America since 2003, she also has been selected as one of the Top 50 Women Lawyers in North Carolina in the 2006 through 2010 editions of North Carolina Super Lawyers, published by Law & Politics and Charlotte Magazine.
