Troutman Sanders advised on the global offering of CPMC Holdings on Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited

HONG KONG – International law firm Troutman Sanders is please to announce that it represented the joint sponsors and underwriters, China International Capital Corporation Hong Kong Securities Limited (CICC) and BOCI Asia Limited, in the global offering and listing of CPMC Holdings Limited on the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited. The offering was completed on November 16, 2009.
The total proceeds from the global offering were HK$1.24 billion, which included the over-allotment option being exercised in full. CPMC is a subsidiary of COFCO Group, one of the largest state-owned enterprises in China, and engages in the manufacturing of packaging products for consumer goods, such as food, beverages and household chemical products. It is also China’s leading manufacturer in the metal packaging industry.
Both the Hong Kong public offering and the global offering have been over-subscribed, with the Hong Kong public offering being 299 times over-subscribed.
The Troutman Sanders team was led by Olivia Lee, a Hong Kong partner and head of the firm’s Greater China practice, and of counsel Monin Ung. They were assisted by a team of lawyers that included Vencci Ho, Jianxue Wang, Kennus Wong and Wei Cui.
