Tevis is a member of the firm's Labor & Employment Group. In addition to advising Human Resources professionals on a regular basis, he has litigated cases for employers on a wide range of issues, including Title VII (discrimination, harassment, and retaliation), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA), overtime and wage violations under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 (ERISA), breach of employment contracts, non-compete agreements, wrongful termination and other general employment matters. Tevis frequently lectures on employment law topics and currently serves as the Co-Editor of the Labor & Employment Group's "Employment & the Law" newsletter.

Richard Lawley v. Danville Regional Health System (Sup. Ct. of Alabama 2009) - obtained dismissal of plaintiff's claim for breach of employment contract.
Lester v. Framatome ANP, et al. (W.D. Va. 2008) - obtained motion for judgment on the pleadings in ERISA case relating to plaintiff's claim for retirement benefits.

Dillon v. Anthem Healthcare, 7:07cv69 (W.D. Va. 2007) - obtained summary judgment in ERISA case seeking healthcare benefits.
Cardiac Thoracic Surgical Assoc. v. Katz, et al. (Cir. Ct. City of Richmond 2007) - obtained dismissal of multi-count complaint alleging breach of non-compete and breach of fiduciary duty.
Sargent v. UnumProvident Corporation (E.D. Va. 2006) - obtained summary judgment on plaintiff's claim that plan administrator improperly applied setoff to monthly benefits.
