Sarhana’s practice focuses on advising insurers regarding coverage issues and litigating insurance coverage disputes. She has successfully represented insurers in litigation before various federal and state courts.
Representative Experience
Represented an insurer in successful appeal of insurance coverage dispute regarding business interruption coverage for an airline following September 11. PMA Capital Ins. Co. v. U.S. Airways, Inc., 271 Va. 352 (2006.
Obtained summary judgment for an insurer in a coverage dispute and successfully defended the appeal in connection with misconduct by a public officer.
Litigated and resolved for an insurer a coverage dispute regarding mold infestation.
As co-counsel, resolved a 15-year asbestos coverage dispute involving scores of thousands of asbestos claims in Combustion Engineering 524(g) Asbestos PI Trust v. Allianz Global Risks US Insurance Company, et al., No. 06-C-04-200 CHT (Del. Super.).
As co-counsel, representing The Humane Society of the United States, pro bono, negotiated settlement to restrict the sale of criminal animal fighting magazines.
