Ryan is the co-leader of the Intellectual Property practice group, and has been featured as one of the leading intellectual property attorneys in Georgia, being named to The Atlanta Intellectual Property American Inn of Court and Georgia Trend magazine’s Legal Elite in Intellectual Property Law (2005-2008), selected for inclusion as a Georgia Rising Star and a Super Lawyer in Intellectual Property Law by Law & Politics and Atlanta Magazine (Georgia Rising Star - 2005-2007; Georgia Super Lawyer - 2010-2014; Super Lawyers, Corporate Counsel Edition (2010-2011)), and AV® Peer Review Rated, LexisNexis Martindale-Hubbell.

Ryan has over 15 years experience counseling clients on the protection, licensing, and enforcement of intellectual property rights, with specific expertise in patent law. While focusing on patent, trademark, Internet and copyright prosecution, counseling and litigation, Ryan also has extensive experience counseling clients on licensing, marketing, distribution, technology and other commercial transactions regarding products and services protectable under international, federal, state or local intellectual property laws. He participates in corporate deals requiring the analysis of intellectual property assets, and represents both plaintiffs and defendants in intellectual property disputes involving trade secrets, covenants not to compete, unfair competition actions, Internet disputes, false advertising claims, and other claims relating to intellectual property. Ryan is well-versed not only on the substance of intellectual property law, but also on federal and state court procedural issues, including obtaining and defending against temporary restraining orders and preliminary injunctions that often are sought in intellectual property actions. Ryan is also proficient in resolving disputes through alternative dispute resolution mechanisms such as arbitration and mediation.
