Robert is the Head of Litigation for Troutman Sanders' Virginia offices, co-Leader of the firm’s Electronic Discovery and Data Management Practice Team, and a member of the firm's Business Litigation, Intellectual Property Litigation and Antitrust practice groups. He is an accomplished trial lawyer who has served as lead counsel in both complex commercial disputes and intellectual property matters in state and federal court, at both the trial and appellate level. Robert has substantial experience litigating and counseling clients in matters involving patent, trademark and copyright infringement; false advertising; trade secret violations; unfair competition; anti-cybersquatting; civil conspiracy; antitrust; fraud and other commercial business disputes. Robert has been recognized in Best Lawyers in America and named as one of the nation’s Leading Lawyers by Chambers USA.

Prior to joining Troutman Sanders, Robert clerked for the Honorable James C. Cacheris, Chief Judge of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia. Robert is an experienced member of the bar of the Eastern District of Virginia, regularly represents litigants in that forum, and has published articles and made presentations about litigating in Virginia’s “Rocket Docket.”
