Richmond partner in article on the "Norfolk Four"
AM Law Daily
July 28, 2010
Richmond partner Steve Northup and Troutman Sanders were mentioned in a July 28 AM Law Daily article about the release from prison of the “Norfolk Four” sailors, who were convicted in 1997 of the rape and murder of an 18-year-old newlywed Navy wife.
According to the article, Northup and attorneys from Hogan Lovells, Holland & Knight and Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom have “seemingly accomplished the impossible” in getting the four defendants out of prison. Additionally, the article noted that Troutman Sanders’ “lawyers performed an average of 36.3 pro bono hours in 2009” and “47.2 percent of the firm’s U.S.-based lawyers contributed 20 or more hours.”
