Norman has focused his practice on the areas of labor and employment law throughout his professional career. He has extensive experience in counseling clients in the retail, apparel, healthcare, food service, financial services, technology and other industries on compliance issues, workplace policies, workplace investigations, executive compensation and severance issues, discrimination and wrongful termination claims, confidentiality and non-competition agreements, the employment aspects of corporate restructuring and mergers and acquisitions, whistleblower claims and wage and hour issues. Norman also regularly represents clients before the full range of administrative agencies responsible for enforcing labor and employment laws, negotiates on behalf of client employers with unions and employee organizations and assists client employers in defeating unionizing campaigns.

Frequently renders general employment advice and preventative counseling, and designs and drafts employment policies, employee handbooks and codes of conduct.
Negotiates and drafts executive employment, retention, severance and related agreements.
Represents clients in proceedings before administrative agencies including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Department of Labor, OSHA, the National Labor Relations Board and state counterparts
Develops and drafts agreements to protect corporate assets, including confidentiality, non-solicitation and non-competition agreements.
Conducts or supervises workplace harassment, discrimination and misconduct investigations.
Counsels employers on wage and hour, wage payment and employee leave issues.
Counsels employers on store closings, corporate reorganizations and reductions in force, and drafts WARN documentation and severance agreements in connection with same.
Represents employers in Representation and Unfair Labor Practice proceedings, and in collective bargaining negotiations with labor organizations.
Represents employers in arbitrations involving discipline, termination and contract interpretation.
Counsels retail clients on public accommodation issues arising under the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Norman has served as an attorney for the National Labor Relations Board in Brooklyn, New York, as Labor Relations Counsel for the National Football League Management Council, and as Counsel in the Los Angeles office of Mudge, Rose, Guthrie, Alexander and Ferdon.
