Matthew's practice focuses on commercial and business litigation in almost every area of commercial law, including contracts, corporate and partnership disputes, financial services, restrictive covenants, unfair competition, insurance, real estate, trademarks, business torts and many other legal and equitable issues. He also counsels and defends clients in federal, state and local regulatory matters. His expertise covers all phases of litigation, including trials, appeals, arbitrations, mediations and other alternative dispute methods.

Representative Experience
Representation of U.S. equity investor in litigation arising from defaults under lease transactions involving passenger rolling stock operated by domestic municipal transit agencies.

Representation of low cost airline in an action for default under an aircraft lease.

Representations of securities firms and registered representatives in customer and industry arbitrations before FINRA (formerly NASD).

Substantial experience with business tort claims, including tortious interference with contract, trade secret, fraud, restrictive covenants and breach of fiduciary duty claims.

Substantial experience with disputes regarding the ownership of closely-held businesses in the entertainment, real estate, and financial services industries.

Representation of manufacturers, distributors, retailers, financial institutions and service providers in investigations by federal, state and municipal regulatory agencies.

Representation of manufacturers and retailers in consumer class actions involving claims for consumer fraud and violations of state unfair and deceptive trade practices acts.

Representation of a New York-based restaurant chain in a trademark infringement action.

Representation of a national manufacturer of bridal gowns in a trademark infringement action.
