George has a broad-spectrum intellectual property practice.
He focuses on controversies involving patent or trademark rights, on counseling of corporate and institutional entities concerning technology and branding issues, on transactional matters with a significant intellectual property component, and on the world-wide patenting of inventions and registration of trademarks. George has a chemistry degree, but is also conversant with numerous other technologies, such as those utilized in the electronic payment processing, biotechnology, chemical sensor, e-commerce, and mechanical areas (to name a few).
Thus, George's practice includes litigation, other contested proceedings, and sophisticated patent and trademark opinion work. He has handled inter partes cases on behalf of patent and trademark owners, the defense of alleged infringers, opposition proceedings in the United States Patent and Trademark Office, and major studies undertaken to “clear” the introduction of new products, services and brand names into the marketplace.
George additionally has substantial experience in agreement work relating to the intellectual property aspects of merger and stock- or asset-purchase transactions, as well as intellectual property licensing.
And, as mentioned above, another significant aspect of George’s practice is the procurement of patents and registrations to protect technology and trademark assets. He has wide-ranging expertise in all phases of the preparation and prosecution of applications for patent and trademark registration in many different fields, both inside and outside of the U.S.
