Supplementary Provisions to Rules on Foreign Investments in Commercial Industry (IV) 《外商投资商业领域管理办法补充规定(四)》出台

On February 5, 2009, the Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) issued these Supplementary Provisions to the Measures on the Administration of Foreign Investments in the Commercial Industry (IV) with immediate effect. Under the rules, service providers from Hong Kong and Macau who open more than 30 shops in China to sell different brands of medicine, insecticide, agricultural film, chemical fertilizer, vegetable oil, edible sugar, cotton, etc., from different suppliers, may be permitted to run such shops in the form of sole investments. However, Hong Kong and Macau service providers investing in other commercial areas in China shall still comply with the Measures on the Administration of Foreign Investments in the Commercial Industry.
