Clayton is an associate at Troutman Sanders in the Corporate Practice Group. His practice focuses on the representation of public and private companies in connection with mergers and acquisitions, security offerings, corporate governance and general corporate law. He also focuses on the representation of private equity and venture capital funds in the acquisition, maintenance and divestiture of their portfolio companies and investments.
Clayton received his B.A. in Government and American Politics with a minor in Studio Art from the University of Virginia in 2000. In 2006, he received his J.D. from University of Virginia School of Law. Clayton also served as a law clerk to the legendary Honorable Glen M. Williams, United States District Court for the Western District of Virginia.
