Clara is an associate in the Troutman Sanders LLP real estate Section and is a member of several practice groups, including the Retail Properties practice group.

Clara’s practice focuses on commercial real estate matters. Clara has a broad range of experience in commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, developments, leases, and tax free exchanges of real property. She has represented developers, sellers, purchasers, landlords and tenants on various types of transactions throughout the country. She has also handled financings of real property, including permanent and construction loans, and securitized and defeasance loans. Her various projects have included shopping centers, retail stores, office buildings, apartment buildings, mixed use properties, health care facilities, and industrial properties. She has experience in all aspects of these projects, including due diligence review, utility easement agreements, reciprocal easement agreements, covenant and restriction agreements, and operating leases.

A significant part of Clara’s practice involves representing a large national retail company in the acquisition, development, expansion and leasing of real estate in retail shopping centers and stand-alone commercial and retail properties. She negotiates and drafts purchase agreements, leases, renewals, modifications, development agreements, and other agreements with a wide range of parties, including governmental entities and utility companies. Clara has experience with utilizing form documentation as well as pre-negotiated agreements, and has experience preparing summary memorandums and ancillary agreements appropriate to a variety of transactions.
