Andrea represents clients in all aspects of state and federal environmental law, with particular focus on the regulatory and transactional aspects of hazardous site cleanup and brownfields redevelopment programs.  Andrea’s experience has included cleanup actions, transactions and litigation involving CERCLA and RCRA hazardous substances and wastes, underground storage tanks (USTs) and state superfund programs across the United States.  Andrea’s experience also includes counseling clients with respect to SEC environmental disclosure obligations and Clean Air Act New Source Review regulations.

Representative Experience
Representation of numerous buyers, sellers and lenders in the purchase and sale of real property across the United States, including entry into state brownfields programs, completion of due diligence activities, negotiation of contractual provisions and advice concerning potential liability and regulatory considerations.

Representation of clients in all aspects of investigation and remediation of numerous sites pursuant to the federal CERCLA statute, the Georgia Hazardous Site Response Act (HSRA), the Georgia Hazardous site Reuse and Redevelopment Act (Georgia Brownfields Statute) and the successful completion of cleanup activities under such programs. 

Representing lender in foreclosure on former industrial and commercial properties and resolution of liabilities through Georgia brownfields program and UST programs.

Lead environmental counsel in the acquisition of the former Durango paper mill in St. Marys, Georgia; acquisition of several former industrial properties in metro Atlanta; and the acquisition of a large petroleum-impacted property in Atlanta for master planned commercial and/or residential real estate developments.

Representation of multi-state publicly traded company in evaluating and developing environmental disclosures in compliance with applicable SEC regulations.

Environmental counsel to major utility regarding federal and state Clean Air Act New Source Review requirements, including review of ongoing projects at facilities throughout the Southeast.

Representation of clients in litigation involving UST regulations and hazardous substance releases in Georgia, North Carolina, New York and other states.
