Mr. Mendelsohn has experience in several areas of litigation, including criminal law, appellate practice, civil RICO, and election law. While serving for almost five years as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in Washington, D.C., Mr. Mendelsohn acted as the lead prosecutor in fifteen jury trials and argued numerous cases before the D.C. Court of Appeals. He also directed over one hundred grand jury investigations utilizing federal and local law enforcement agencies. During his tenure as a federal prosecutor, Mr. Mendelsohn received two U.S. Department of Justice Special Achievement Awards.
Prior to joining the U.S. Attorney's Office, Mr. Mendelsohn served as a Trial Attorney in the Civil Division of the U.S. Department of Justice. He was a member of the Tobacco Litigation Team, which handled the largest civil RICO case in U.S. history. Mr. Mendelsohn also has experience in election law matters, having worked in various legal capacities on several national and state political campaigns.
