Shanghai Government Reshuffle Approved - State Council - 上海市政府机构改革方案获批准 - 国务院

The Shanghai Municipal Government’s organizational “reshuffle” is intended to streamline governance, reducing the number of departments and agencies directly subordinate to the Shanghai Municipal People’s Government from 56 to 44.
The main changes include:
· The formation of the Shanghai Residential Premises Security and Property Administration Bureau and the dissolution of the Shanghai Premises and Land Resources Bureau.
· The formation of the Shanghai Planning and Land Resources Bureau and the dissolution of the Shanghai Urban Planning Bureau.
· The formation of the Shanghai Commerce Commission and the dissolution of the Foreign Economic and Trade Committee and Shanghai Foreign Investment Working Committee.
· The joint operation of the Shanghai Finance Bureau and Shanghai Local Administration of Taxation Bureau will cease, and each will set up separate offices. The Shanghai Local Administration of Taxation Bureau and Shanghai National Administration of Taxation Bureau will continue to operate jointly;
· The formation of the Shanghai Human Resource and Social Security Bureau. This bureau will administer the newly formed Shanghai Civil Servant Bureau. The Shanghai Labor and Social Security Bureau and Shanghai Personnel Bureau will be dissolved.
